Lesson Outline 57

Phronesis

PHRONESIS- the highest level of Wisdom, prudence in dealing with affairs, an excellent mindset, supernatural sagacity, a propelling wisdom that makes you to always make excellent decisions. Eze. 36: 27.

God put Sophia into you, develop you with Sunesis and perfect you with Phronesis.

These three levels of Wisdom are what the Spirit of Wisdom takes us through. Until Sophia translates into Phronesis, you CANNOT enjoy the benefit of it.

phronesis from phroneo = to have understanding, to think

from phren = midriff, heart, mind, thought

describes practical understanding discernment of the needs, problems principles of everyday life which leads to right action. Thoughtful planning.

Ultimately, true understanding is an attribute of God and thus the goal for a godly man or woman should be to walk in divinely bestowed phronesis. (1Cor 2:16)

Phronesis is the ability to govern one’s own life wisely. It is a skill and carefulness in dealing with one’s own resources.

Phronesis is prudence which is caution in practical affairs or action that shows care and thought for the future. It describes the practical use of wisdom and spiritual discernment.

The word translated “wisdom” above is the Hebrew “Phronesis” and it’s a force that controls you.

It’s a spiritual elixir that locates you within the framework of God’s will, beyond your natural understanding, causing you to do God’s things God’s way, in God’s time for God’s purpose! It’s also a mind-set; an excellent mind-set that causes you to think in a certain way and to say the right things in the right way at the right time for the right purpose in the right place.

Phronesis” propels you to make accurate choices, sound judgments and decisions, and to do things right the first time. You can develop “Phronesis” through studying and meditating on the Word of God and through praying in the Holy Ghost – speaking in tongues with a desire in grow in this reality”

O, but I thought the Word says Christ has been made unto us wisdom from God?” you might ask.

Yes. But that wisdom is “Sophia” (Greek) which means theoretical wisdom, or insight into reality; it means all the collective understanding of all things. There’s also a third kind of wisdom called “sunesis”; this is critical wisdom; the ability to understand concepts and see relationships between them. It suggests a quickness of apprehension; the penetrating consideration which precedes actions. Whereas, “Phronesis” is practical wisdom; it’s a force that makes you do and say the right things before you even think. God gives you “Sophia” – insight into reality, so that you can have “sunesis” – an understanding, for the purpose of developing in you “Phronesis”; a mind-set for a successful and extraordinary life.

The extraordinary amplitude and sagacity of King Solomon inspired many people of his day. The Bible says that all Israel revered and admired Solomon because of the manifestation of God’s wisdom in his life (1 Kings 3:28). He was celebrated as the wisest man that ever lived until Jesus showed up on the scene.

But how did Solomon get this wisdom? God gave it to him through words. He simply said to Solomon, “…I have given you a wise and understanding heart…” (1 Kings 3:12). That was all! God didn’t try to fix anything into his head; neither did He touch him. Solomon believed the words He had spoken to him, and he began to manifest wisdom.

Solomon is here,” referring to Himself (Matthew 12:42; Luke 11:31). Now the Bible says that Jesus has been made unto you wisdom from God; implying that Christ is your wisdom. This makes you also “a greater than Solomon.” With the wisdom of Christ now functional in you, you can outdo your past and perform more excellently in everything you’re involved in.

You have phronesis, practical wisdom, a fixed mental attitude or programming of the mind that makes you reason, interpret, and respond to situations in the most excellent way.

This is far more sublime than what Solomon had. So explore this goldmine of Christ-wisdom in you today.

2Timothy 3:1-5, Romans 1:22-27, the wisdom of the word of God is timeless. The standard of your life is the extent of the knowledge of the word you have. Your life is limited to the limits of your knowledge of God’s word. Ephesians 1:11 When you walk in Phronesis you’ll make the right decision at the right time, for the right purposes. Phronesis is a mindset… If you walk in Phronesis and Sophia, you can never make a mistake.

Sophia is an insight into mysteries while Phronesis is an insight into reality. Sophia gives you cognitive ability, the ability to know and understand the pros and cons of situations, realities and events while Sunesis gives you understanding, Phronesis gives you a mindset. When you walk in Phronesis you make the right decisions at the right time and for the right reasons.

If you walk in Sophia and phronesis it is impossible for you to be defeated in life; Phronesis locates and positions you right, where you are meant to be according to God’s perfect will.

John 6:27, When you received the Holy Ghost you were sealed. It means you’re untouchable

The things of this world can not affect you, no matter what is happening in this world it is not supposed to affect you as a child of God.

Matthew 13:44,38 the whole world belongs to Jesus, Satan became a legal occupant through the fall of Adam but Jesus Christ bought the whole world with His blood. Ephesians 1:14(AMP) with wisdom you have insights which let’s you see through barriers. The revelation and unveiling, let you see through the barriers.

Photizo means enlightening – the flooding of your heart with light. Say this: Light with understanding is flooding my heart now. Wisdom is insight; Insight is looking into something and seeing through the barrier. Light and awareness of the greatness and power of God towards who believe.

I am aware of my inheritance in Christ, the hope of his calling

and the greatness of his power towards me

By the grace of God I am what I am, it is not by power or by might but by God’s spirit.

Let no one be-little you, the Holy Spirit is the one you need; He is the power of God, the Holy Spirit is the doer of God’s word.

When God’s word comes to you it’s the Holy Spirit that brings it into being.

If you’re going to live a victorious, prosperous and glorious life, you have to know, understand and live by the Word of God, which is the wisdom of God. Many miss it, and function outside of the wisdom of God because they’re ignorant of God’s Word.

In Matthew 22:29, Jesus said to the Jews, “…Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures….” The knowledge of God’s Word inspires the wisdom of God in you to know, say, and do the right thing, at the right time, for God’s purpose.

Wisdom is divine insight into realities. It’s a force that works in you, causing you to walk with divine insight in God’s perfect will for your life. And it’s the Holy Spirit that works in you to produce that force of wisdom in your life. He’s the One that fills you with the wisdom of God, for He’s the Spirit of wisdom.

Anybody could act like they’re wise. Someone may talk smart or clever, but that doesn’t make him wise. Someone once said, “Old people are very wise, because they have a lot of experiences.” That’s not true; old people aren’t always wise (Job 32:9 ESV).

Old people may have experience, which gives hindsight, but what puts you over in life is divine insight into mysteries and secrets, which is granted you by the Spirit, through the Word. Hindsight is wisdom after the event, but insight is the capacity to understand hidden truths; wisdom for the event, and that’s what you need—“Phronesis.” This is the kind of wisdom that God gave to Solomon; it’s practical wisdom. This is much more than mental ability or erudition; it’s a special mindset that causes you to see, think, talk, and do things correctly.

The Bible declares that Christ has been made unto us wisdom from God; affirm it.

Declare

“Christ is my wisdom; I have insight into mysteries and secrets; I know how things run, and I know how to tame the circumstances of life to conform to God’s perfect will for my life.” Hallelujah!
