Ilumination
Born Again from the womb?
The scriptures were very clear about
who a believer is and who he or she
is not
To be a believer, you have to believe
in the Lord Jesus Christ and confess
Him as your Lord and saviour
Jesus Himself explained this to
Nicodemus and by extension to
all of us in the gospel of John
Nicodemus was a Jew who already
had a religion given by God through
Moses
He was not a pagan by any standard
And yet, the Kingdom of God was
a mystery to him because the law
had no provision for entry into the
Kingdom of God
The Jews had been searching for the
Key to eternal life since the days
of Moses
They knew there had to be a way for
man to reign with God in heaven
and yet they couldn’t decipher how
When Nicodemus came to Jesus
this was the question burning in
His heart
Even though he was highly placed in
the Jewish ruling council, he still had no
idea how to gain eternal life
Solomon, the wisest king that ever lived
also had no clue
He said “Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity”
after summarizing the sojourn of man
without laying hold of eternal life
David, the King, and the prophet saw
from afar, that eternal life was possible
and attainable
Psalm 16: 10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Daniel had an insight into eternal life
12 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
5 Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
6 And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
7 And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.
8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?
9 And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12 Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.
13 But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.
Prophet Zechariah prophesied about the eternal
life
Zachariah 3
3 Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan[a] standing at his right side to accuse him. 2 The Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”
3 Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel. 4 The angel said to those who were standing before him, “Take off his filthy clothes.”
Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”
5 Then I said, “Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by.
6 The angel of the Lord gave this charge to Joshua: 7 “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘If you will walk in obedience to me and keep my requirements, then you will govern my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you a place among these standing here.
8 “‘Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch. 9 See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven eyes[b] on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.
10 “‘In that day each of you will invite your neighbor to sit under your vine and fig tree,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”
(The whole chapter was symbolic, it depicted the
fact that the sin of man would no longer
need the blood of animals to be removed
but the imputation of the righteousness
of God. in verse 9, God said he would
remove the sin of the land in a single
day (The death of Jesus did this)
So we know that eternal life was a revelation
of things to come in the old testament but
it was not attainable
Men could only dream of it
In the new testament, John the Baptist began
to preach boldly about the Kingdom of God
He baptized people unto repentance but
he couldn’t give them eternal life
Everybody knew the kingdom of God was
at hand but nobody knew how to get in
This was why Nicoddemus came to see
Jesus
Jesus Teaches Nicodemus
3 Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]”
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”[d]
9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.
10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—the Son of Man.[e] 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,[f] 15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”[g]
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20 Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21 But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
John Testifies Again About Jesus
22 After this, Jesus and his disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where he spent some time with them, and baptized. 23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized. 24 (This was before John was put in prison.) 25 An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew over the matter of ceremonial washing. 26 They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan—the one you testified about—look, he is baptizing, and everyone is going to him.”
27 To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30 He must become greater; I must become less.”[h]
31 The one who comes from above is above all; the one who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks as one from the earth. The one who comes from heaven is above all. 32 He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. 33 Whoever has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. 34 For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God[i] gives the Spirit without limit. 35 The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in his hands. 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.
Jesus told the teacher of the jews
that except a man be born again, he cannot
see the Kingdom of God
Now was it possible to heal the sick and cast
out demons without being born again?
Mark 9: 38 John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone else driving out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him, because he does not accompany us.” 39“Do not stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no one who performs a miracle in My name can turn around and speak evil of Me
The case above answers that question
but does not give the person driving out
demons in the name of Jesus access to
eternal life
Jesus told his disciples that the mystery
of the Kingdom of Heaven was given
only to them
Matthew 11: 10 Then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Why do You speak to the people in parables?” 11 He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
So eternal life was revealed only to believers
and yet the Jews were searching for it earnestly
Jesus knowing this tried to open their eyes to
the reality of eternal life but they couldn’t
fathom it
John 5
Testimonies About Jesus
31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true. 32 There is another who testifies in my favor, and I know that his testimony about me is true.
33 “You have sent to John and he has testified to the truth. 34 Not that I accept human testimony; but I mention it that you may be saved. 35 John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
36 “I have testimony weightier than that of John. For the works that the Father has given me to finish—the very works that I am doing—testify that the Father has sent me. 37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, 38 nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. 39 You study[c] the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
Jesus said in order to have life, we must
come unto him
He said it in his own words!
It is safe to conclude therefore that you can work miracles
without being born again
You can give people all your money and even die for
them without being born again
You can do good and be good without being born again
But unless a man be born again, he cannot see the
Kingdom of God
So if a man claimed he was born again from the womb
or a denomination claims it is unnecessary to confess
Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour and also receive the
baptism of the Holy Spirit in order to be saved
It is advisable to be wary of such a denomination or
such a man
The day a believer got born again should be the greatest
day of his life
I got born again on September 17, 2007 at the New Lecture
Theatre Fellowship centre in Bowen University
I cannot forget that day
So many other believers also wear this day like a badge
of honour, just like Paul did after he met the Lord on
the road to Damascus
Being born again is critical to gaining eternal life
Good works count only after you have become
born again and started walking in the light
Every good work done in darkness belongs to
darkness because no one can do anything to
please God outside of the leading of the Holy
Spirit who can only dwell in us after we have
given our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ and
surrendered our spirit, soul and body to him
Even Jesus was not born again from the womb!
He was the first begotten from the dead! Revelations 1:5
We are the fruits of His resurrection, His resurrected kind
This is the gospel
Sentiment can write long epistles trying
to argue a good man into heaven based on
the perceived good works he did in the
flesh
Pastors can write epistles and beneficiaries
and partakers or witnesses of the life and
time of such a person can also make a
claim of heaven for such a man
Heaven was not meant for good people,
according to the Bible, it was meant for
those who have obtained eternal life
Jesus didn’t die to make bad people good.
He died to make dead people live
This is the distinction and we must understand
it and walk in it
If you have believed but not confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, kindly day this now
Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior.
Glory be to God
The power of the righteousness that is at work in me is in its confession! I have the righteousness of God, the Lord is my righteousness. I live in the consciousness of the Lord is my righteousness! The Lord is only side at all times, all that I do, I do in His name and as He would do them! I fear nothing for God is with me, I am not dismayed for He is my God: Henhas strengthened me, He has helped me, He has upheld me with His right hand of righteousness. The right hand of the Lord is Christ! He is in me and I am in Him! All those who were alincesed against me shall be ashamed and confounded, they shall be as nothing and they that strive with me shall perish. For I am His church, his tabernacle and his nation! I shall endure until He comes for I have been tasked to occupy until He comes! Hallelujah!!!
In the Lord I have righteousness, the Lord is my righteousness, I know righteousness. Christ has become made my sanctification. In Christ I have redemption through his blood, I have been fully rid of all sins through the blood of a Jesus. Christ rids me of all troubles and all evil. For He has abounded towards me in all wisdom and prudence. I am wise, I am bold, I am strong, I am righteous! I am full of phronesis, the wisdom of the righteous.
Prophecy
For this be the days of light and wisdom and righteousness says the Lord, this be the days that I spoke to you about, to walk in my light and my glory, that I may manifest myself in you, and through you that the world may know that I called you and chose you and you belong to me says the Lord. You’re my light, you’re my victory says the Lord! For the world is mine and I have given it to you says the Lord, walk in the length and breath of it, it’s all mine says the Lord. No one takes it from you for it is yours says the Lord. You’re the seed of Abraham, you are the one I pronounced blessed long before your sun arose from the East, never walk in fear for the adversary has been defeated a long time ago, I have given you power and authority over all devils and powers of the enemy
Declaration continues
Phronesis is the highest kind of wisdom, it works in me as a force, through it I say the right things, think the right thoughts, go to the right places, in the volume of the book concerning me to do the will of God at all times. Righteousness is phronesis at work. The wisdom of God at work in me produces righteousness. Phronesis is the expression of righteousness. I walk in the path of righteousness. I am led in the path of righteousness at all times! Counsel works in me, I am full of sound wisdom, understanding is open to me, I have strength!
I reign in life by wisdom and I decree justice in life by wisdom. I love wisdom, wisdom loves me and I have found the life of God! Durable riches and righteousness dwell in me, my fruit is better than gold, my revenue is better than choice silver, I am led in the way of righteousness by wisdom, in the midst of the last of judgement, I have inherited substance and treasures are continually filled.
I am born in Zion, I am a citizen of the city of the great king. I am born of the spirit. I am not confirmed to this world, I have been transfigured by the renewing of my mind! I am a proof of the perfect will of God! There is no mistake or chance happening in my life, I have been predestination to be confirmed to the image of his son. Predestination is at work in me!
Glory!!!!!
